Fountain House is a New York gallery providing artists living with mental illness an environment to create and exhibit their work. The collaborative workspace furthers the professional practice of artists who are emerging or established, trained or self-taught, making it a vital contribution to the New York arts community.

The gallery’s new exhibition “Compulsive Genius" was curated by APAA member Suzanne Lemakis and Fountain House Studio director Karen Gormandy. Suzanne Lemakis — as well as other APAA colleagues Elizabeth Fiore, Suzanne Gyorgy, Sandra Lang and Elizabeth Szancer — has been involved with Fountain House for many years and was especially delighted to have been a part of this recent installation and selection of work.

Participating artists include: Christine Albane, Miguel Colón, Roger Jones, Anthony Newton, Gary Peabody, Angela Rogers, Alyson Vega and vermilion.

The exhibition is on view through May 10th, 2023.
