Guggenheim, Asher Associates is active every step of a client’s collecting career.  Barbara Guggenheim’s book Art World: The New Rules of the Game, outlines all the services GAA provides.

Whether your objective is to buy a single painting, form a sizable art collection, or sell art, Guggenheim, Asher will help you make an educated decision to maximize your investment. The art market is an ever-changing, complex labyrinth-minefield, difficult for the most sophisticated collector to navigate and potentially devastating for the beginner. Unless you’re an expert in the field and active on a daily basis, it’s hard to know if you’re purchasing the right work at the right price. As art advisors, we provide you with the knowledge and the market savvy you need to prevent errors and make the right choices. having been in the market so long, we have a deep database which enables us to show you financial comps and discuss issues like rarity.

Guggenheim, Asher Associates offers a wide range of services from educating new collectors, to finding works for established collectors, to performing the due diligence required before purchasing a work of art, which includes checking authenticity, condition, and provenance. GAA will help you determine the right price to pay and negotiate for you.  And after the purchase is made, GAA will supervise restoration, framing, insurance, shipping, lighting and installation. If you’re selling a work of art, GAA will help you determine the correct selling price and where best to sell it, whether it be at auction, through a gallery, a private dealer, or directly to another collector.
